What does it mean to be #1

Everywhere I go I see billboards for different professions. All claiming that they are number 1 in their industry. After a while it starts to feel like the only people that are number 1 are the ones who say it the loudest.

When selecting anything; whether its a car, attorney or grocery store. The real question is what is your number 1 priority? The self proclaiming number 1 realtor may not align well with that priority. You may find them pretentious or even oblivious to your needs. Instead treat this process like hiring someone. Ask them questions and listen to the questions that they ask you.

You're going to be working with them for a while (30-60 days at the very least) realistically 3-6 months. If you're buying then there will be a consultation, lender selection, narrowing of homes to see, seeing those homes, making offers, getting under contract, etc. If you're selling there will be a consultation, listing prep; such as: touch up work, staging, photos, signage, open houses, showings, offers, repairs, etc. Many discussions will be had. Many decisions will need to be made. Working together with your professional and being confident in their abilities is going to make this much easier and successful.

A great Realtor. One that fits your priorities will be able to help you with most, if not, all of those items. Being number 1 to everyone should not be the goal. Being number 1 to your clients should be.
